Entrepreneur Magazine lists Tieks, a company founded by Kfir Gavrieli, as one of the “30 Startups You Should Watch.” Tieks has been featured on The Oprah Winfrey Show, Forbes, and Inc. magazine.

In hindsight, Kfir Gavrieli owes a large part of his success to his parents, both of whom were entrepreneurs. Yuval Noah’s book “Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind” has also had a profound impact on Kfir Gavrieli. He also explains how the book reflected the values of his community and the Jewish values he held dear: A community hero, Gavrieli was recently in the news when his company donated thousands of face masks to healthcare workers during the COVID-19 pandemic and mobilized its fans and followers to do the same.

To begin with, Kfir Gavrieli mobilized his team at Tieks to produce cloth face masks and donate them to front-line healthcare workers as personal protection equipment (PPE). His decision gained even more significance once Tieks launched its historic Operation #SewTogether campaign, which used social media to mobilize the company’s fans and followers.

The successful Sew Together project resulted in the creation of more than a million masks that have been donated to facilities in need. During these trying times, many heroes are performing courageous acts that help sustain a society in the face of a pandemic: Selfless acts of dedication and tenacity, moments in which people show their commitment to society and humanity, are what ultimately define heroism.

Kfir Gavrieli describes the sacrifices his own parents made as immigrants starting a small business as his first example of heroism: Although Gavrieli was concerned about the slow response to the pandemic threat and the burden on the nation’s medical systems, he was grateful for the opportunity to help in some way.

The belief that Gavrieli has in the “power of community and the eagerness of people to do their part in raising awareness, donating goods, and more” has been strengthened by the campaign #SewTogether.Visit this page for more information.
